The Heart

I am as stuck
as I was then.
As stuck as
everyone now.
I have nowhere
and nobody
but everything
happening.
Now.
Now.
And again.

There is no release.
No escape.
My heart beats
and my blood rewinds
like magnetic tape.
To pump again
and pump again,
spooling like red thread.
Never leaving the heart,
there is no release
for the pressure, the stress,
or the memory of an embrace.
Never leaving this room.
Never with nowhere to go
or someone to love
except for the whole world
that waits
on the other side of health
and good taste.

I am as stuck
as I was then.
As stuck as
everyone now.
I have everything
but by present
circumstance,
Nothing.
Nothing and everything
pumping silently loud.
